Abstract

The energy efficiency market is generally underdeveloped. The technologies exist, but the customers are left on the dark side in finding out what works for them and in despair over finding a helping and trustworthy hand. If we will ever hope for a large scale deployment of energy efficiency that comes anywhere close to the potentials calculated (and hoped for), there is a dire need to develop new business models. Models that address the services that energy provides and not energy only. Models that focus on customer/user perspectives of services and not only the cost of energy bought. Models that allows for a wider co-operation between companies that deliver the services jointly to the customer. Energy efficiency is not difficult but (a bit) complicated.
